About PUSD Giving Tree
The PUSD Giving Tree program has successfully brightened the holidays of families in our school district for over two decades. Every year, the Poway Unified School District Foundation and the Palomar Council PTA collaborate to sponsor Giving Tree (formerly PUSD Adopt-a-Family program (a 501-c organization).
Poway Unified Schools (from Elementary to High School) are contacted to nominate families that could use some extra help over the holidays. The nominated families then fill out "wish lists" of what their children need (mainly clothes, shoes and school supplies) and something they'd like ... maybe just one fun gift.
A small number of volunteers work tirelessly to collect, sort, and deliver the donations given in a respectful way. This allows 100% of donations to go to the families in need with no overhead costs. We are grateful for every single donor, company and organization that makes Giving Tree possible every year. With your participation and donations, students within our school district are able to experience a better holiday season.
